What's the job?

As a Junior Lifeguard, you are responsible for assisting in maintaining a safe, clean, and enjoyable swimming pool environment for hotel guests and leisure club members. You will support the Recreation team in enforcing pool safety rules, monitoring guest activities, and responding appropriately to emergencies under the guidance of senior team members. Your day-to-day

• Monitor the swimming pool and surrounding areas to ensure the safety of all guests.
• Enforce pool rules and safety regulations in a friendly and professional manner.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and provide First Aid or CPR when required, according to your certification and training.
• Immediately report incidents, hazards, or unsafe conditions to the Senior Lifeguard or Recreation Supervisor.
• Assist with routine safety inspections of the pool area and ensure lifesaving equipment is clean, accessible, and in good working condition.
• Help maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the pool deck, changing rooms, and recreation facilities.
• Support swimming lessons and recreational activities as directed by the Recreation team.
• Assist guests with towels, pool equipment, and general enquiries while delivering excellent customer service.
• Maintain accurate attendance and incident records as required.
• Participate in regular training sessions, emergency drills, and maintain all required lifeguard and First Aid certifications.
• Work closely with the Recreation, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Security teams to ensure a safe and enjoyable guest experience.
• Uphold IHG service standards by greeting guests warmly, assisting with enquiries, and delivering exceptional hospitality at all times.
