About the Job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Health and Safety.Executive to join Jumeirah The Red Sea.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:
- Conduct routine HSE inspections across resort operational areas, ensuring observations are documented, followed up, and closed in a timely manner.
- Support workplace risk assessments and assist departments in implementing effective control measures to minimise health and safety risks.
- Assist with the investigation of incidents, accidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions, including reporting, root cause analysis, and follow-up of corrective actions.
- Monitor contractor and third-party activities to ensure compliance with HSE requirements, permit-to-work procedures, and safe working practices.
- Support emergency preparedness initiatives, including evacuation drills, emergency response exercises, equipment inspections, and departmental readiness reviews.
- Assist in the implementation and continuous review of HSE policies, procedures, SOPs, risk assessments, and incident management processes.
- Monitor environmental compliance activities, including waste management, chemical storage, spill prevention, environmental records, and regulatory documentation.
- Support beach and waterfront safety compliance by reviewing safety signage, emergency access, rescue and first aid equipment readiness, incident reporting procedures, and emergency response requirements.
- Participate in internal audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance assessments related to health, safety, environmental, and operational readiness.
- Maintain accurate HSE documentation, including inspection reports, incident reports, risk assessments, training records, and compliance records.
- Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for colleagues, contractors, and third-party personnel.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Security, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Human Resources, Recreation, and other operational departments on HSE and compliance matters.
- Support pre-opening readiness activities, including site walkdowns, departmental inspections, operational testing, and corrective action tracking.About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Possess a NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or an equivalent recognised Health & Safety qualification.
- Bring a minimum of 2–3 years of experience in Health & Safety within hotels, resorts, hospitality, facilities management, construction, or similar operational environments.
- Demonstrate practical experience in HSE inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, contractor safety management, emergency preparedness, and compliance monitoring.
- Have knowledge of environmental compliance requirements, including waste management, chemical management, spill prevention, and regulatory documentation.
- Be proficient in spoken and written English.
- Previous experience in hospitality, resort, island, beach, marine, or pre-opening operations will be an advantage.
- IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid, Fire & Life Safety, or environmental sustainability certifications are considered desirable.About the Benefits
