Job Description
VAM Systems is currently looking for IT Operations Specialist for our Bahrain operations with the following skillsets & terms and conditions:
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree.
Experience
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in IT Operations.
Scope of the Job:
- Running all operation tasks on all mission critical Banking applications
- Monitor and ensure service availability for 24x7 hours.
- Take Data Backup of all Business Applications.
- Ensure data replication main sites to DR site (Bahrain and London).
- Escalate user reported and system/application faults.
- Takeover first-levels help desk responsibility after normal working hours.
- Support other IT teams.
Areas of Knowledge / Experience
- Data Center Operations experience in monitoring, incident handling and escalation
- Should have worked on Banking domain / Financial institutions.
- Working Knowledge on DB like Oracle, SQL Server Databases.
- IT Certifications in Windows, Linux, SQL etc. Will be added advantage.
- Non-IT certifications like ITIL is plus.
Principle responsibilities:
- Running IT operations like End of Days, Start of Day, Backups, Restores and replication etc.
- Knowledge of the bank operation procedures to give support to the Bank for round the clock.
- Knowledge of operating systems including Windows, Solaris, Linux.
- Knowledge of Hardware components and their functions.
- Knowledge of the bank data replication procedures.
- Knowledge of how to use Help Desk application.
- Able to manage and maintain Backup / Restore procedures.
- Monitoring the database performance and tune the memory, I/O, SQL etc. escalate when necessary
- Database recovery in case of failure.
- Knowledge of how to activate and operate the disaster recovery centers.
- Monitor & escalate database growth and disk space.
- Monitor & escalate the alert log files for the possible database problems.
- Monitor the offline & online cold backup using Veritas NetBackup and VEEAM software’s.
- Monitor alerts and Job flows on Control-M
Requirements
- •Minimum bachelor’s degree
- •Minimum 1-2 years of experience in IT Operations
- •Experience in Banking domain or Financial institutions
- •Data Center Operations experience in monitoring and incident handling
- •Working knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server Databases
