Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inspector - Civil (Microtunneling) to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and inspecting microtunneling operations to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of construction quality and safety throughout all phases of underground tunneling work.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of microtunneling equipment, materials, and construction processes to verify compliance with project specifications and applicable codes
- Monitor and document all microtunneling activities, including shield advancement, ground conditions, and structural integrity of tunnel linings
- Perform quality control testing and analysis of concrete, soil samples, and other construction materials used in microtunneling operations
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain organized documentation of all findings, observations, and corrective actions
- Collaborate with project engineers, contractors, and site management to identify and resolve construction deficiencies and safety concerns
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout all microtunneling operations
- Conduct regular site inspections and walkthroughs to assess progress and verify compliance with project timelines and specifications
- Analyze survey data and measurements to confirm proper tunnel alignment, grade, and structural positioning
- Maintain accurate records of inspection activities, test results, and project correspondence for regulatory and contractual purposes
- Communicate findings and recommendations to project stakeholders in a clear and professional manner
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent diploma
- Minimum 7 years of experience in civil inspection, including stormwater drainage and microtunneling projects
- Prior Dubai Municipality approvals preferred
