This role is suited to an integration specialist who can shape robust enterprise connectivity across diverse systems and platforms. As an IIB Integration Designer, you will play a central part in turning business and technical needs into integration designs that support reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability while working closely with stakeholders across architecture, delivery, and technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop enterprise integration solutions using IBM Integration Bus (IIB).
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable integration designs.
- Design and develop IIB message flows, integration services, and reusable integration components.
- Design end-to-end integration solutions connecting enterprise applications, databases, middleware platforms, and external systems.
- Work with synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns.
- Design and implement integrations using REST, SOAP, HTTP/HTTPS, IBM MQ, JMS, and other enterprise protocols.
- Develop message transformations using ESQL and other applicable transformation technologies.
- Define integration interfaces, message structures, data mappings, and transformation rules.
- Ensure integration solutions meet enterprise standards for performance, scalability, availability, security, and maintainability.
- Design and implement APIs and integration services according to enterprise architecture and integration standards.
- Troubleshoot complex integration issues across development, testing, and production environments.
- Perform root-cause analysis and provide technical solutions for integration failures and performance issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise integration and middleware technologies.
- Strong design and development experience with IBM Integration Bus (IIB), including ESQL and message transformation.
- Hands-on experience with IBM MQ, REST APIs, SOAP web services, and HTTP/HTTPS integration protocols.
- Proven experience translating business and technical requirements into end-to-end integration solutions.
- Ability to explain technical designs, dependencies, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience collaborating with Enterprise or Solution Architects, application owners, development teams, and cross-functional teams including infrastructure, middleware, database, security, DevOps, and business stakeholders to define integration solutions.
- Good to very good written and spoken English for technical documentation, technical discussions, and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with JMS and IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE).
- Familiarity with Kafka or other event-streaming technologies.
- Experience in banking or financial services environments.
- Experience with IIB-to-ACE migration or upgrade work.
- Experience presenting integration architecture or design proposals to senior management.
- Experience coordinating with external vendors or third-party technical teams.
- Proficiency in Arabic for local stakeholder coordination.
