Job Description
The HSE Engineer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental systems across the project to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, client requirements, and international best practices. The role will support the safe delivery of works by proactively identifying risks and driving a strong safety culture on site.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure full compliance with project HSE requirements, local regulations, and international standards.
• Monitor and enforce implementation of the approved HSE Plan across all project activities.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Review method statements, risk assessments, and permit to work systems to ensure alignment with HSE requirements.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis and preventive measures.
• Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions to project personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of HSE performance, including statistics, reports, and compliance documentation.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants, and client representatives on all HSE-related matters.
• Support emergency preparedness and response planning, including drills and coordination.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in HSE performance.Minimum Requirements:
• Not less than ten (10) years of experience in HSE management within similar projects (e.g. infrastructure, construction, or engineering projects).
• Experience on rail or metro projects would be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of international HSE standards and best practices.
• Experience in implementing HSE management systems on large-scale projects.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Professional HSE certifications (such as NEBOSH or equivalent) will be an advantage.
