Head - General Ledger

JOB SUMMARY

The ​Head - General Ledger​ reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all General Ledger transactions. The post holder oversees the processing of accounting transactions, ensures accurate balances for prepaids and accruals, and manages timely reconciliation of General Ledger accounts. The position leads monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring compliance with IAS/IFRS standards and Qatar tax regulations.

In addition to managing the General Ledger, this role oversees correct accounting setups for subledgers and reviews subledger transactions for accuracy and completeness. Post holders’ key responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial data from sub-modules and system interfaces, enforcing strong internal controls, and managing areas such as General Ledger, Inventory, Capital Assets, and Grants Accounting. As a team leader, the ​Head - General Ledger​ provides guidance and support to the accounting team, fostering collaboration and operational efficiency.
