Job Purpose:
DP World is transitioning from a port-centric operator to the architect of the world’s smartest, most efficient supply chains. The Global Assistant Manager will play a pivotal role in enabling this transformation by supporting the Global VP in shaping, integrating, and executing our global commercial and strategic agenda.
This is not a coordination or administrative role. It is a build-and-integrate mandate focused on developing global capabilities, connecting them to commercial opportunities, and future‑proofing the organization across emerging technologies, AI trends, and shifts in global trade flows.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Analytics & Decision Support
• Develop robust financial models to evaluate commercial opportunities, partnerships, and investment cases.
• Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to optimize margin and assess risk.
• Analyze business performance data to identify trends and convert insights into actionable commercial recommendations.
Strategy Implementation & Project Management
• Translate high-level strategic priorities into structured execution plans.
• Maintain the global master tracker for strategic initiatives.
• Drive KPI discipline and ensure consistent reporting across regions and teams.
Strategy, Innovation & Horizon Scanning:
• Monitor disruptive trends such as AI, automation, trade flow shifts, and regulatory changes.
• Work with digital/product teams to identify AI and automation opportunities.
• Conduct white space analysis and recommend build/buy/partner approaches.
Executive & Regional Coordination
• Prepare high-quality presentations and leadership materials.
• Act as secretariat for key commercial forums.
• Lead deep-dive strategic projects such as market entry studies and competitor analysis.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Consulting Path:
• 2–4 years in a Tier 1/Tier 2 consulting firm with logistics/supply chain exposure.
Industry Path:
• 2–5 years in strategy, commercial finance, or business analytics roles within logistics or supply chain.
• Strong financial modelling ability (P&L, cash flow, ROI).
• Understanding of freight forwarding, contract logistics, warehousing, distribution, and customs.
• Advanced PowerPoint storytelling and executive communication.
• Curiosity and understanding of AI and digital innovation in logistics.
