Gas Distribution SCADA Specialist (Saudi Arabia)

Eram Talent is seeking an experienced Gas Distribution SCADA Specialist to join a leading energy company in Saudi Arabia. To maintain and administer SCADA system of Marafiq Gas Distribution Network (GDN) in Yanbu including its communication network in order to ensure high equipment availability and optimize system performance..

As a Gas Distribution SCADA Specialist, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of SCADA systems, facilitating real-time monitoring and control of gas distribution activities. Your technical expertise will be critical in maintaining operational integrity and supporting the technical needs of the distribution network.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on SCADA application software, operating systems, hardware, RTUs, and communication networks of the GDN system.
• Administer and manage SCADA systems and networks, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows operating systems and services.
• Monitor SCADA system performance such as alarms, events, CPU usage, disk space, and network traffic to ensure reliability and efficiency.
• Analyze and manage real-time data using monitoring techniques, data historian tools, and visualization platforms to extract and present system information.
• Provide technical support to operations by troubleshooting SCADA failures, generating reports, and resolving system issues.
• Conduct testing, commissioning, and integration of new SCADA systems, devices, and applications to ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure.
• Manage system security and user administration, including creating and managing user accounts, password resets, and defining access responsibilities.
• Maintain backups and disaster recovery processes, ensuring full system backups and restoration in case of partial or complete system failures.
• Handle hardware maintenance and inventory control, including repairing SCADA equipment, monitoring spare parts stock, and supporting AMI maintenance activities.
• Support project and engineering activities, including reviewing design packages, participating in site surveys, evaluating technical proposals, managing OPEX/CAPEX tasks, coordinating with vendors/OEMs, and participating in reliability and safety studies (RCA, RCM, HAZOP, IPF).Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in I&C Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in SCADA systems specific to gas distribution.
• 8 years field experience with major utility organizations or SCADA system manufacturers.
• Enough working experience in SCADA systems of Gas Distribution Network including RTUs in metering skids and related communication systems.
• Enough working experience in Wonderware SCADA system and Emerson RTUs of Metering Skids.
• Good understanding of communication protocols and interfaces such as Modbus, RS232/485 etc.
• Enough working experience in SAP - Plant Maintenance module.
• Proficient in operating Wonderware SCADA systems and working with Emerson RTUs.
• Experience with gas distribution networks, including RTUs in metering and control systems.
• Strong knowledge of communication protocols (Modbus, RS232/RS485, etc.) and integration of field devices.
• Working experience with SAP - Plant Maintenance module.
• Relevant certifications such as MCSA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are preferred.
