Job Purpose:
Delivery and assess current and future training needs. Develop training and career development programs and evaluate and assist with the effectiveness of training delivery by managers and supervisors.
Key Accountabilities:
Training Needs Analysis
• Annually identify and assess the training needs of the seafaring staff through conducting the Training Needs Analysis in coordination with the department heads and in compliance with Internal and Extremal training requirements.
• Provide regular reports on training. Provide regular reports on training status, development and improvements to design and develop training programs.
Training Administration
• Manage implementation of training plans and schedules including arranging all logistical requirements, securing a trainer/training provider, following up on attendance, and evaluating training activities.
• Ensure accurate and valid data and records are in place for all off and onshore staff in FPD.
Training Budget
• Assist in creating budgets for all costs associated with training and writing detailed reports to justify expenditures for reporting to executive management.
CADET Program Management
• Develop and facilitate implementation of CADET program by coordinating with the business for nomination and assessment. Coordinate the end-to-end process for fresh graduate programs from recruitment, on boarding, and placement through assessment, ongoing training, and program end. Perform evaluation of program effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.
Training Service Providers
• Manage contracting of training service providers in coordination with concerned parties through ongoing evaluation and quality assessments.
Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all QA procedures and accreditations.
• Lead audits in the area of FPD training.
Leadership
• Effectively supports employees to meet daily requirements/deadlines through addressing queries, resolving day-to-day work-related issues and providing technical on-the-job training.
• Advises functional teams or projects on his/her area of specialization and is able to lead multidisciplinary projects or initiatives.
Concepts & Policies
• Adopt and apply new professional strategies and policies within the area of responsibility in accordance with management directions.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Transportation, Engineering or Business Administration.
• Minimum 3 years seafaring experience.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Commercial Shipping/Marine Field is preferred.
