Job Overview:
The Field Specialist I – Production Solutions & Intervention Services is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient execution of Weatherford Production Solutions & Intervention Services operations at customer well sites. The role is designed for an entry-level field professional who will develop technical and operational competency through hands-on field experience, training, and close supervision from experienced Field Specialists and supervisors.
The Field Specialist I will assist with the preparation, installation, operation, maintenance, and retrieval of intervention and production-related tools and equipment. The role requires a strong technical aptitude, commitment to safety, willingness to learn, and ability to work effectively in field and rig-site environments.
Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation and execution of Production Solutions & Intervention Services jobs under the supervision of experienced field personnel.
- Assist with checking, preparing, assembling, testing, and maintaining intervention tools and related equipment.
- Assist with running, operating, and retrieving downhole tools in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions.
- Support pre-job planning, equipment preparation, mobilization, and post-job activities.
- Assist senior Field Specialists with wellsite operations and troubleshooting of equipment and operational issues.
- Follow all Weatherford, client, and regulatory HSE requirements and participate actively in safety meetings and job risk assessments.
- Assist with equipment function testing and report any equipment defects or abnormalities to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate job documentation, including job tickets, equipment records, job logs, utilization sheets, WPTS entries, and job reports.
- Assist with post-job inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and preparation of equipment for the next operation.
- Develop knowledge of Weatherford Production Solutions & Intervention Services products, tools, procedures, and applications.
- Maintain effective communication with field personnel, supervisors, and client representatives.
- Participate in technical and competency training programs to develop the skills required for progression to higher Field Specialist levels.
- Maintain equipment, workshop, yard, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
- Provide on-call and field support as required by operational requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor within the physical requirements of the role. Skills:
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Basic understanding of downhole tools, mechanical systems, hydraulics, or oilfield equipment is an advantage.
- Ability to follow technical procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop technical field competencies.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in demanding field, rig, and wellsite environments.
- Physically capable of performing field duties and handling equipment as required.
- Willingness to work rotational schedules, extended hours, nights, weekends, and on-call assignments.
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic and written job documentation.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence. Qualifications:
- Diploma from an accredited college/institution in a technical discipline; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another relevant technical field.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience in oil & gas, engineering, mechanical, technical, or field operations.
- Previous oilfield experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Candidates who have completed internships, summer training, industrial training, or academic placements on rigs, oilfield service companies, or oil & gas operators are encouraged to apply.
- Previous exposure to Production Solutions, Well Intervention, Completion, Workover, or other oilfield services is an advantage.
- Must be willing and physically able to work at customer locations, rigs, and well sites.#LI-MD1
