Estimation Engineer - MEP | AlFuttaim Engineering | Emirati Talent

Overview Of The Role:

• Responsible for collecting and analyzing data to estimate costs for project delivery.
• Works towards cost target objectives in collaboration with others.
• Accountable for multiple components within the design and manufacturing process.
• Responsible for Tender review, Cost Estimation, Bid Compilation & Risk Assessment, Bid Finalisation, Handover to Projects & preparation of Data bank.
What You Will Do:

Tender Review

• Review of Tender documents on receipt to ensure completeness.
• Organize and participate in bid initiation and review meetings.
• Raise clarifications timely for better bid submission clarity.
• Coordinate and follow-up to ensure post-bid clarifications are addressed.
• In-house coordination for preparation of bid including follow-up, and collection of input from various sub-contractors or third parties.

Cost Estimation

• Clear understanding of work scope and best estimation for project execution.
• Ensure commercial submissions to tenders comply with all necessary details.
• Verify detailed MTOs (quantity take-off) from tender documentation.
• Build estimate methodically and in detail according to good estimating practice.
• Ensure completeness of Subcontract Enquiry Packages and availability of Subcontract offers on time.

Bid Compilation & Risk Assessment

• Ensure Subcontractor responses are complete and accurately tabulated on Bid Evaluation spreadsheet.
• Prepare accurate Indirect Cost Estimates.
• Work with Procurement Group for timely Vendor RFQ Technical and Commercial Bid Evaluation.
• Prepare or review construction schedules, providing man-hours and equipment requirements.
• Assist in identifying, evaluating, and ranking risks, and developing strategies to manage and mitigate risks.

Bid Finalisation & Submission

• Present Cost Estimate in detail to Estimation Manager for review prior to tender management review.
• Assist with preparation of a list of clarifications and qualifications to the proposal.
• Ensure Clients pricing and technical tender schedules are complete and accurate.
• Conduct peer reviews of estimates compiled by others for completeness and pricing accuracy.

Handover to Projects & Preparation of Data Bank

• Organize Budget Handover Meetings to Project Managers.
• Maintain Lessons Learnt database from existing projects.
• Assist Estimation Manager in departmental development work.

Required Skills To Be Successful:

• Advanced Excel skills and strong IT systems knowledge.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to research and manipulate numerical information.
• Good communication skills with capability to form and maintain internal and external relationships.
• Project management skills with attention to detail and ability to deliver against deadlines.
What Qualifies You For The Role:

• Relevant business, commercial or engineering degree preferred, MBA is an advantage.
• 5 to 6 years of experience in Estimation & Project Management.
• Experience in using spreadsheets, estimating pricing models and cost management tools.
• Knowledge of a variety of manufacturing/automotive processes and ability to analyze associated costs.
