Job Description
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the Engineering team.
- Assign maintenance tasks and monitor their completion to ensure quality and timely execution.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest areas, back-of-house areas, plant rooms, equipment, and hotel facilities.
- Ensure preventive maintenance programs are carried out according to established schedules.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests, operational issues, and emergency situations.
- Troubleshoot technical problems and support the team in identifying effective solutions.
- Monitor the condition and operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems.
- Ensure all engineering work is performed in accordance with safety procedures, hotel standards, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment servicing.
- Monitor tools, equipment, spare parts, and engineering supplies and report replenishment requirements when necessary.
- Coordinate with contractors and external service providers when required and monitor the quality of completed work.
- Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives within the Engineering department.
- Ensure workshops, plant rooms, and engineering areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Communicate effectively with other departments regarding maintenance requirements and operational priorities.
- Support the training and development of Engineering team members and ensure proper working procedures are followed.
- Assist Engineering management with departmental projects, inspections, reporting, and operational requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Engineering management.
Qualifications
- Diploma or technical qualification in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or a related technical field.
- Previous experience in Engineering or Maintenance within the hospitality industry or a similar environment.
- Previous supervisory or team-leading experience is preferred.
- Good knowledge of hotel building systems, preventive maintenance, and general maintenance practices.
- Understanding of health, safety, and engineering standards and procedures.
- Ability to diagnose technical issues and coordinate appropriate corrective action.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and shifts, as required by hotel operations.
