Job Description
The Role
As Engineering Manager, you will be the operational heart of Faena’s technical world—ensuring that every system, space, and installation performs flawlessly. Supporting pre-opening and ongoing operations, you will lead the engineering team in safeguarding Faena’s ultra-luxury standards while delivering seamless guest experiences, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
What You Will Create
Operational Excellence
- Oversee the daily operation of all hotel engineering systems, ensuring flawless performance of MEP, building management, and technical equipment.
- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs that protect the property, reduce downtime, and maintain luxury standards.
- Respond to technical challenges with precision and discretion, minimizing any guest impact.
Pre-Opening Readiness
- Support commissioning, testing, and handover of all hotel systems prior to opening.
- Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and project teams to ensure readiness and operational confidence.
- Contribute to the creation of SOPs, schedules, and departmental protocols that embed Faena’s technical standards and culture.
Safety, Compliance & Sustainability
- Ensure adherence to Saudi regulations, fire and life safety standards, and environmental requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and emergency preparedness exercises.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, service logs, and compliance records.
- Identify opportunities to optimize energy, water, and resource efficiency without compromising luxury service.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and inspire the engineering team, fostering pride, accountability, and a culture of excellence.
- Partner with operations to anticipate needs, align priorities, and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of team members, including Saudi nationals.
Collaboration & Performance
- Work closely with the Director of Engineering to manage budgets, CAPEX, and vendor contracts.
- Collaborate with other departments to align technical operations with guest experiences and brand storytelling.
- Monitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement to maintain Faena’s standard of artistry in every detail.
Qualifications
Who You Are
- An experienced engineering professional with a background in luxury or ultra-luxury hospitality.
- Skilled in MEP systems, life safety, preventive maintenance, and hotel operations.
- Pre-opening experience is highly desirable.
- Strong leader with excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledgeable about Saudi regulations, safety, and labor compliance.
- Fluent in English; Arabic is a strong advantage.
