Qiddiya Investment Company is on a mission to create a world-class entertainment and lifestyle destination in Saudi Arabia, and we are looking for a visionary Director - Landscape to lead our landscape architecture initiatives. This position will be instrumental in crafting immersive, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing landscapes that enhance the overall experience in this transformative environment.

In this critically important role, you will define the landscape design philosophy for Qiddiya by blending artistic vision with ecological responsibility. You will oversee a talented team of landscape architects and collaborate closely with various stakeholders to ensure that our ambitious projects are not only visually stunning but also harmonious with the surrounding ecology and community.

Core Responsibilities

• The Director – Landscape Design is responsible for setting the strategic vision, leadership, and custodianship of landscape and public realm design across Qiddiya.
• The role defines long‑term objectives, governance frameworks, and delivery strategies that ensure world‑class public realm outcomes aligned with business plans, City Framework Plan and executive priorities.
• The Director acts as a senior advisor to senior leadership and represents the organization as the authoritative voice on landscape, public realm and place‑making at a city‑wide scale Key Responsibilities - Define and drive the landscape and public realm strategic agenda in alignment with organizational business plans and development objectives.
• Establish long‑term vision, principles, and success measures for landscape and public realm. Provide executive‑level advice and recommendations to Qiddiya leadership on public realm and place‑making strategy.
• Act as ultimate custodian of the landscape and public realm components of the master plan, overseeing evolution, change control, and long‑term integrity.
• Approve and govern master plans, landscape frameworks and public realm design submissions across all development phases. Ensure full compliance with City Framework Plan, public realm guidelines, and authority regulations.
• Provide executive oversight of landscape and public realm delivery across multiple assets and packages.
• Set and approve consultant procurement strategies, systems, and frameworks to support complex, multi‑phase delivery. Oversee the development of public realm planning tools including place and pattern books, guidelines, and design manuals.
• Lead and maintain senior‑level relationships with key stakeholders and partners. Represent the organization externally as a recognized authority in landscape and public realm design.
• Deliver high‑level presentations and briefings to executives, partners, consultants, and external bodies. Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction. Build organizational capability, succession planning, and a culture of design excellence and accountability.Requirements

• Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science, or related field; professional qualifications (ASLA, CMLI) preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in landscape architecture, with significant experience in leading large-scale projects and teams.
• A strong portfolio showcasing innovative and executed landscape designs, specifically in urban or entertainment contexts.
• Expert knowledge of sustainable landscape design principles, site development processes, and construction methods.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a talent for engaging diverse stakeholders.
• Proficient in using landscape design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) and project management tools.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project resources effectively.
• A collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and a focus on building consensus.
• A passion for advancing landscape architecture and a commitment to sustainability in design.
