JOB OVERVIEW
The Customs Entry Agent ensures 100% compliance with all regulatory requirements related to customs clearance. He / She should have clear understanding of department KPI’s and Network Operations and ensure timely customs clearance of shipments taking into consideration that all DHL customers have an express requirement and are looking for instant and immediate action. Accuracy and Speed are key characteristics with organising and prioritising the job within the stipulated timeframe. The incumbent should be a self learner, detail oriented and an excellent team player.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Declare all custom pre-alerts on time.
- Ensure accuracy of HSCODE, Goods country of origin, no of pieces, weight value, and currency while lodging an entry to customs.
- All clearance through Mirsal 2 / B2G has to be submitted at line items.
- Shipments which require special handling needs to be updated with appropriate preset ACA statuses / Bond Reasons.
- Shipments cleared which requires regulatory approvals should be handed over to the respective supervisors for getting it endorsed by the inspection.
- Follow Gateway clearance procedures as outlined in the GSOP manual and ensure strict compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper record keeping is done and reports & files are updated timely and appropriately.
- Should be a Self learner and should keep himself updated with the current changes in the customs rules and regulations and with the current trends of shipping and logistics industry.
- DUBAITRADE, DCE, DCC, ACA, CIA, GIA, GDI and other Gateway Applications.
- The department operates 24 x 7 - 365 days. The incumbent is required to work in day / night shifts. Public holidays in the country are usually a normal working day for our department, and the staff will get compensated with a day off on another day or will be compensated by paying OT.
- Gateway department operates in different locations (JAFZ / DAFZ / SFZ / HFZ etc.) The staffs are required to work in any of these locations as and when it is required. The staffs need to find their own means of transport for these locations.EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Sound knowledge of the UAE Customs code and practices
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools
- Preferably Graduate or equivalent
