Job Purpose:
Secure contracts and agreements to provide services and supply of goods and services for Bahri fleet in in accordance with the O&M Procurement policies and procedures. Prepare and finalize the contracts for docking repairs of Bahri fleet and attend the docked vessels at the appointed shipyard as a commercial representative of Bahri during the repair period.
Key Accountabilities:
Manage Contracts
Undertake pre-qualification of the contractors, evaluate and analyse commercial proposals before awarding and signing the contracts.
Prepare presentations, reports and provide recommendations to facilitate management decision making.
Lead communication between bidders and Company personnel during all tendering stages of evaluation and negotiations with bidder's representatives.
Prepare and review new contracts and amendments for award and approval
Manage Drydocking Contracts
Pre-qualify the shipyards for vessel drydock and evaluate their submitted proposal for award recommendation.
Attend the vessel docking at shipyard as a commercial representative of Bahri.
Arrange procurement of materials and services for repairs during the drydock project.
Closely monitor the drydock budget, issue change orders and negotiate the final invoice for payment in the best interest of Bahri.
Contract Compliance
Ensure contracts are drafted and awarded in compliance with Bahri Procurement policies and procedures.
Liaise with suppliers and service providers in case of contractual terms and conditions that are deviating from standard. Ensure that Bahri interests are being served by the contractual terms and conditions agreed.
Contract Monitoring
Administer contracts and agreements and ensure contracts are renewed before expiry.
Resolve contract and agreement issues with contractors and other stakeholders within and outside of the Company.
Monitor contracts issues and recommend improvements in contracts or agreements rates, terms and conditions as applicable.
Documentation
Ensure that all contracts under management are retained in a secure and easily retractable manner.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent.
6-8 years of relevant experience.
Certification in CPCM (Certificate in Professional Contracts Management) is preferred.
