Role Overview
As a Consultant/Specialist Psychiatrist in Dubai, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive psychiatric care across outpatient and inpatient settings, managing a wide spectrum of mental health conditions while working alongside a multidisciplinary clinical team.
Requirements
Eligibility & Board Recognition:
- American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
- UK CCT / GMC Specialist Register
- European Board Certification
- Canadian / Australian Fellowship
- Arab Board / FCPS / MD Psychiatry
- Minimum 3–5+ years post-board experience preferred
- DHA License eligibility or active license is an advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including mental status examinations, risk evaluations, and diagnostic assessments
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, and substance use disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating both pharmacological and psychotherapeutic approaches
- Provide crisis intervention and acute psychiatric care when required
- Collaborate with psychologists, counselors, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans and medications, and ensure optimal clinical outcomes
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with DHA and international standards
- Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and preventive strategies
- Participate in clinical governance activities, audits, and continuous professional development initiatives
