We are looking for an experienced and skilled Consultant / Specialist Orthodontist to join our leading healthcare facility in the UAE.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in orthodontic diagnosis, malocclusion correction, fixed and removable appliances, clear aligner therapy, and dentofacial development, with a focus on achieving functional, stable, and aesthetically pleasing results.
The successful candidate will work closely with general dentists, pediatric dentists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, prosthodontists, periodontists, and other members of the multidisciplinary dental team.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive orthodontic consultations and evaluate patients' dental and facial development.
• Assess occlusion, tooth alignment, jaw relationships, facial symmetry, and overall dentofacial development.
• Develop individualized orthodontic treatment plans based on clinical findings, diagnostic records, and patient goals.
• Diagnose and manage different types of malocclusion, crowding, spacing, crossbite, open bite, deep bite, and overbite.
• Plan and provide orthodontic treatment for children, adolescents, and adults.
• Provide treatment using fixed orthodontic appliances and other appropriate orthodontic systems.
• Provide clear aligner treatment where clinically appropriate.
• Manage complex orthodontic cases requiring multidisciplinary dental or surgical intervention.
• Evaluate growing patients and develop appropriate interceptive and preventive orthodontic treatment plans.
• Monitor treatment progress through regular clinical assessments and modify treatment plans when necessary.
• Assess orthodontic treatment outcomes and develop appropriate retention strategies.
• Manage orthodontic emergencies and appliance-related complications.
• Review and analyze panoramic and cephalometric radiographs, CBCT images, photographs, digital scans, and dental models as appropriate.
• Perform cephalometric analysis and use diagnostic records for comprehensive treatment planning.
• Coordinate orthodontic treatment with oral surgeons for cases requiring orthognathic surgery or surgical exposure of impacted teeth.
• Coordinate with pediatric dentists and other specialists for patients requiring multidisciplinary care.
• Counsel patients and parents regarding treatment options, expected duration, appliance care, oral hygiene, and treatment outcomes.
• Provide clear instructions regarding aligner use, braces care, elastics, retainers, and follow-up requirements.
• Maintain detailed and confidential patient records, treatment plans, progress documentation, and clinical photographs.
• Participate in case reviews, clinical audits, quality improvement activities, and continuing professional development.
BDS, DDS, DMD, or equivalent recognized dental qualification.
Recognized postgraduate qualification in Orthodontics / Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics or an equivalent specialty.
Relevant post-specialization clinical experience.
Strong experience in comprehensive orthodontic treatment.
Demonstrated experience managing both adult and pediatric orthodontic cases.
Good knowledge of modern orthodontic systems and digital treatment planning.
Strong diagnostic and treatment-planning abilities.
Excellent understanding of facial growth, dental development, and occlusion.
Excellent communication and patient-management skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary dental team.
Requirements
- •BDS, DDS, DMD, or equivalent recognized dental qualification
- •Recognized postgraduate qualification in Orthodontics / Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics
- •Relevant post-specialization clinical experience
- •Expertise in orthodontic diagnosis and malocclusion correction
- •Proficiency in fixed and removable appliances
- •Experience in clear aligner therapy
- •Ability to work in a multidisciplinary dental team
