Managerial Task:
⢠Supports, implements, and follows all hospital, departmental and divisional initiatives, policies and procedures
⢠Helps lead and implement the organizationās performance management system, including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes

⢠Assists with scheduling and supports the Division Chief in ensuring that adequate medical coverage is provided within the Division at all times

Technical Task:
⢠Diagnoses and treats patients according to established standards of best practice for the post holderās specialty. The Consultant Physicianās clinical duties include but are not limited to the following:
⢠Oversees the clinical activities of the junior medical staff and is assumes responsibility for the care they provide
⢠Complies with all established hospital polices regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, outpatient and follow up practices
⢠Practices appropriate utilization of the organizationās resources
⢠Leads ward round; reassesses both inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis, in line with established best practice
⢠Accurately documents all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with established procedures
⢠Regularly reviews results of all investigations and modifies treatment as required
⢠Liaises with other medical specialties and support services for additional input as required
⢠Actively participates in multi-disciplinary meetings to help plan effective, safe and holistic care for individual patients
⢠Ensures preparation of patients for all procedures including obtaining informed consent
⢠Accepts clinically appropriate referrals from the Emergency Department, primary care, other departments, specialty clinics, walk in patients, and patients referred from other hospitals
SEHA Compliance:
⢠Complying consistently with facility policies, procedures and practices and ensuring alignment with SEHA facilities policies.
⢠Completing and maintaining regulatory requirements including: licensure and certification and other mandatory training within established time frame
Requirements
