A leading tertiary hospital in the UAE is seeking an experienced Consultant Paediatric Intensivist / Emergency Medicine Physician to join its Paediatric Critical Care and Emergency team.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will provide consultant-level care to critically ill children and paediatric emergency patients, managing complex acute cases in a high-volume clinical environment. The role involves working closely with PICU, Paediatrics, Neonatology, Emergency Medicine and other specialist teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage critically ill paediatric patients in the PICU and Emergency Department.
- Lead the management of paediatric medical and surgical emergencies.
- Provide advanced resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill children.
- Manage respiratory failure, sepsis, shock, trauma and other critical conditions.
- Perform and supervise appropriate critical-care procedures.
- Participate in emergency response and paediatric resuscitation.
- Coordinate patient care with Paediatrics, Neonatology, Anaesthesia, Surgery and other specialties.
- Conduct clinical rounds and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide consultation and support to emergency and inpatient teams.
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors and residents.
- Participate in MDT meetings, clinical audits and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Support teaching, training and development of paediatric critical-care services.
- Medical degree with recognised postgraduate qualification in Paediatrics / Paediatric Critical Care / Emergency Medicine.
- American Board, Canadian Board, Australian Board, Irish Board, CCT/CCST or equivalent preferred.
- Consultant-level experience in Paediatric Intensive Care and/or Paediatric Emergency Medicine.
- Strong experience managing critically ill and emergency paediatric patients.
- Experience in a tertiary or quaternary hospital/PICU preferred.
- Eligible for DHA/DoH/MOHAP Consultant licensing.
- Excellent clinical, communication and leadership skills.
