A leading University Healthcare institution in the UAE is seeking a highly accomplished Consultant Neurosurgeon (Western Qualified) to join its Department of Neurosciences. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive neurosurgical services, including the diagnosis, surgical management, and postoperative care of patients with disorders affecting the brain, spine, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and cerebrovascular system.
The Consultant will work within an academic, multidisciplinary environment, contributing to excellence in clinical care, medical education, research, and innovation while adhering to international best practices and UAE healthcare regulations.
Diagnose and manage patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical disorders.
Perform elective and emergency neurosurgical procedures involving the brain, spine, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system.
Manage traumatic brain injuries, spinal trauma, intracranial hemorrhage, brain tumors, spinal tumors, hydrocephalus, and degenerative spinal disorders.
Perform advanced cranial and spinal microsurgical procedures utilizing modern surgical technologies.
Evaluate patients using advanced neuroimaging and diagnostic investigations to formulate evidence-based treatment plans.
Provide comprehensive pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care.
Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions with neurologists, neuroradiologists, neuro-oncologists, intensivists, rehabilitation specialists, and anesthesiologists.
Provide consultations for emergency neurosurgical referrals and participate in trauma services.
Supervise junior physicians, residents, fellows, and medical students in accordance with the institution's academic mission.
Participate in teaching, curriculum development, simulation training, and continuing medical education activities.
Engage in clinical research, publications, and quality improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and operative documentation.
Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations, hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and international patient safety standards.
Participate in departmental meetings, morbidity and mortality reviews, tumor boards, and academic conferences.
Participate in the departmental on-call roster.
