A leading healthcare facility in Dubai is seeking an experienced Consultant Emergency Medicine Physician to join its emergency department. The successful candidate will provide high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary hospital environment. Similar Dubai roles currently seek American Board or Canadian Royal College-certified Emergency Medicine physicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide rapid assessment, diagnosis, stabilization, and treatment of emergency patients.
- Manage acute medical, surgical, traumatic, cardiac, neurological, and respiratory emergencies.
- Lead and participate in resuscitation and advanced life-support procedures.
- Perform emergency procedures including airway management, intubation, procedural sedation, wound management, and fracture stabilization.
- Coordinate with specialists, ICU, surgery, radiology, and other multidisciplinary teams.
- Determine appropriate patient disposition, including admission, transfer, observation, or discharge.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and electronic medical records.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, and patient-safety initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor junior physicians and emergency department staff.
- Participate in teaching, training, and continuing medical education.
Qualifications
- Medical degree from a recognized medical institution.
- American Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM) OR Canadian Board/Royal College Certification in Emergency Medicine.
- Relevant post-board clinical experience in Emergency Medicine.
- Current license/registration in the country of practice.
- Eligibility for DHA Consultant licensing in Dubai.
- Strong experience in emergency resuscitation, trauma, critical care, and acute medical management.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
The UAE's current PQR recognizes American Board of Medical Specialties certification and Canadian specialist certification among recognized qualifications; licensing also depends on meeting the applicable experience, registration, and other regulatory requirements.
