About the Job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commis I at Jumeirah The Red Sea.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:
• Gather, measure, mix, and prepare meal ingredients, sauces, and seasonings according to established recipes and specifications.
• Wash, peel, chop vegetables, fruits, and meats with precision, demonstrating proficiency in cutting and seasoning meats and marinating as required.
• Execute cooking techniques and plating to exact specifications provided by the Demi Chef | Chef De Partie, ensuring dishes are prepared to high standards.
• Document inventory of kitchen supplies, monitor stock levels, and notify supervisors of low stock situations to maintain sufficient supplies.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as braising pans, ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers effectively, ensuring correct settings for cooking and baking temperatures.
• Follow food safety and hygiene practices, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items according to standard protocols.
About You
• The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
• Hold a High School Diploma .
• Have 1 - 2 years of experience in a range of kitchen areas ideally within the luxury hospitality industry.
• Possess experience of working in an international capacity.
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of cultural differences showcasing trust and respect for everyone.
