OUR EXPECTATIONS FROM THE ROLE:

• Prepare and present sushi and other Japanese dishes in line with recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.

• Ensure food quality, freshness, consistency, and proper portion control at all times.

• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation in accordance with company and HACCP standards.

• Monitor food stock levels, minimize waste, and inform the Chef of excess or low-stock items.

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and ensure proper storage and handling of food products.

• Maintain food production records and temperature logs as required.

• Communicate effectively with the culinary and service teams regarding menu specials, guest requirements, and operational needs.

• Support smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods and contribute to an exceptional guest dining experience.

• Report equipment or maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate department.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or in a Japanese cuisine kitchen within a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant preferably.

• Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, food safety, and hygiene standards preferable.

• Passion for culinary excellence and delivering memorable guest experiences.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
