About the role
As a Bank Engineer – Project Monitoring & Technical Risk, you will report directly to the EVP & Head of Credit – Wholesale Banking Group and work closely with cross functional teams across Business, Credit Risk, Operations, Risk Management, and External Technical Partners. You will play a critical role in safeguarding the Bank’s capital by providing independent technical oversight, project monitoring, and execution risk assessment for bank funded projects across Wholesale Banking, Business Banking, and SME portfolios.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Validate Project Progress Certificates (PPCs) against approved milestones, contractual scope, and actual on site physical progress.
• Review and verify physical project progress versus financial drawdown claims prior to disbursement and PPC discounting.
• Track and monitor project timelines, milestones, and budgets, ensuring alignment with sanctioned credit terms and approvals.
• Identify, assess, and report delays, deviations, scope changes, and cost overruns, highlighting their impact on credit and execution risk.
• Perform Technical Capability Reviews (TCRs) for New to Bank (NTB) proposals, assessing promoter strength, contractor/EPC capability, project readiness, and technical feasibility.
• Provide independent technical inputs to support credit appraisal, underwriting reviews, and Credit Committee deliberations.
• Grant or withhold technical clearance for disbursements and PPC discounting, recommending deferment or rejection where milestones are not met.
• Support early warning signal (EWS) identification, corrective action plans, and enhanced monitoring for distressed or delayed projects.
• Conduct site visits and maintain comprehensive documentation including reports, certifications, photographs, and observations to support audit and regulatory reviews.
What We’re Looking For:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant discipline).
• Experience: 8–15 years of relevant experience in project execution, engineering
technical consulting or bank side project appraisal roles.
• Industry: Banking, real estate, construction, manufacturing, or infrastructure and large scale capital expenditure projects.
What’s In It For You:

• Medical coverage for you and your family.
• Comprehensive life insurance.
• Inclusive and diverse workplace culture.
• Career development and fast-track growth opportunities.
• Mentorship from industry experts.
Skills:
