Position Description
An Associate Payroll Tax SpecialistĀ prepares and submits payroll tax reports and payments and ensures compliance with tax laws and regulations.Ā The incumbent is expected to collate & update payroll tax forms, reconcile payroll tax data, and handle employee inquiries related to payroll taxes.Ā This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of payroll software and tax laws, and proficiency in software like Microsoft Excel.
Key duties & responsibilities include but are not limited to: -
⢠Timely & accurate deposits and Reporting of US/UK/CA/AUS Federal/State/Local/County; Unemployment & back up withholding taxes.
⢠providing customer service on Payroll tax issues to business and employees
⢠performing Tax research, registration and correspondence
⢠assisting with State registrations and multi-state reporting
⢠providing support for tax audits
⢠performing system testing of new authorities, tax types, pay elements, Tax rules & rate changes
⢠driving process improvements and automation
⢠handling special projects as assigned.Qualifications / Requirements: -
⢠Bachelorās degree in accounting or business equivalent
⢠Knowledge of US, UK, CA or AUS Federal, state, local payroll tax regulations
⢠Knowledge of payroll information systems, business application systems and personal computer skills is required. Experience on Workday HCM/Payroll is preferred.
⢠Good communication skills and at least 2 yearsā experience of working within a payroll or tax environment.
⢠High level of energy, self-direction, motivation, follow-through and issue ownership
⢠Advanced skills in Word, Excel and other database applications
⢠Ability to handle multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment
⢠Strong analytical and problem solving and continuous process improvement skills
⢠Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including weekends and holidays
Requirements
- ā¢Bachelor's degree in accounting or business
