Job Description
We are seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer - Wet Utilities to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will provide technical support and site oversight for wet utilities infrastructure projects, including water supply, wastewater, and drainage systems. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with senior engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
- Monitor and inspect wet utilities construction activities on-site, including water distribution networks, wastewater treatment systems, and drainage infrastructure
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, daily reports, and site records to track project progress and compliance
- Conduct quality assurance inspections and testing of materials, installations, and system components to ensure adherence to specifications
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and project teams to resolve technical issues and implement corrective actions
- Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and design documents to verify compliance with project requirements
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports, as-built documentation, and project correspondence
- Support the senior resident engineer in scheduling, planning, and organizing site activities and resources
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site
- Troubleshoot technical problems related to wet utilities systems and recommend solutions
- Maintain organized records of equipment, materials, and test results for project documentation
Qualifications
- Proficiency in civil or mechanical engineering principles with specific knowledge of wet utilities systems (water supply, wastewater, drainage)
- Experience with site supervision, construction monitoring, or resident engineering on infrastructure projects
- Strong proficiency in CAD software for reviewing and interpreting technical drawings
- Solid understanding of UAE building codes, regulations, and standards applicable to wet utilities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Proficiency in technical documentation, report writing, and data management
- Effective communication and coordination skills with ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control procedures in construction
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, site-based environment
- Preferred: Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software
- Preferred: Familiarity with SCADA systems or hydraulic design principles
- Preferred: Previous project experience in the Middle East region
