SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
The Arts Supervisor is responsible for leading, developing, and expanding arts and creative programming at the University. The role oversees all arts-related initiatives including fine arts, music, theatre, performance arts, and other creative expressions, ensuring high-quality opportunities that support student development, cultural enrichment, and engagement.
The position focuses on strategic growth of arts programming, talent development, event coordination, partnerships, and assessment of student learning outcomes in alignment with the University’s strategic goals and Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive annual arts plan that includes fine arts, music, theatre, performance, and other creative disciplines.
• Supervise and coordinate arts programs, workshops, exhibitions, performances, competitions, and cultural initiatives.
• Identify, mentor, and support student talents across multiple artistic domains.
• Expand arts programming beyond traditional fine arts to include diverse creative platforms and interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Coordinate major university events requiring artistic direction (e.g., AU Got Talent, cultural showcases, national celebrations, music concerts, Global Day performances).
• Establish partnerships with internal offices and external cultural organizations to enhance arts opportunities.
• Develop and assess student learning outcomes for arts programs and ensure alignment with ILOs.
• Monitor and manage arts-related budgets, resources, and procurement processes in coordination with university policies.
• Ensure compliance with safety, risk management, and event regulations during rehearsals, performances, concerts, and exhibitions.
• Maintain accurate records of arts programs, participation data, evaluations, and impact reports.
• Promote arts initiatives through appropriate communication channels and ensure proper media coverage.
• Prepare periodic reports on arts programming, participation trends, and program outcomes.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to students involved in arts initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Life.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Music, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Arts Management, Cultural Studies, or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in arts programming, cultural event management, or student engagement within an educational or cultural institution.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
• Strong knowledge of fine arts, music, theatre, and performance arts programming.
• Program planning, implementation, and evaluation skills.
• Ability to develop short- and long-term strategic arts initiatives.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (Arabic and English preferred).
• Event planning and artistic production coordination skills.
• Budget management and resource planning skills.
• Understanding of risk management and event safety protocols.
• Leadership and mentoring ability to foster student talent and creativity.
• Organizational and time management skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Office-based work combined with rehearsal, event, and performance supervision.
• Flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Physical effort may be required during event setup and supervision.
• Interaction with students, faculty, artists, and external partners.

Requirements
