Overview Of The Role:

• As an AutoCAD Draughtsman at Al-Futtaim Group, you will be responsible for preparing and revising AFC workshop drawings based on design information provided by consultants or specialist sub-contractors. Your role involves extracting 2D drawings from 3D models (Revit), developing comprehensive engineering drawings, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring all drawings adhere to quality and safety standards. A critical aspect of the role is maintaining up-to-date BIM models and liaising with site staff to address package requirements, thus ensuring accurate and efficient delivery of design specifications for construction projects. Success in this role is defined by excellent technical proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, effective communication with multidisciplinary teams, and an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and environmental compliance.
What You Will Do:

Day to Day Operations

• Develop 2D engineering drawings from the 3D model/IFC design information into submission drawings with minimal supervision, including GA Shop Drawings, Blockwork Shop Drawings, Tiling Shop Drawings, and RCP Shop Drawings.
• Collate information from architectural, structural, and MEP consultant drawings, RFI responses, SI, and amendments advised by sub-contractors, and incorporate them into workshop drawings.
• Develop and submit drawings for authorities' approval, including trial pits drawings, DEWA drawings, DM drawings, and DCD drawings.
• Accurately model in 3D within Revit and extract 2D drawing information, ensuring the BIM model is always current and updated as required.
• Visit site and liaise closely with site staff to review AFC self-delivered package requirements.
• Check drawings prepared by others for coordination and accuracy ensuring maintenance of department records, CAD standards, and drawing filing and retrieval systems.
• Monitor and review own short-term workload program and that of a small to medium-sized team to ensure timely delivery of drawings.
• Assist in staff development and promote good working practices.

Safety, Quality & Environment

• Ensure that all relevant safety, quality, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls are adhered to for safety, quality of services, and environmental compliance within AFC.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and practices considering interests and benefits to Al Futtaim and its employees.

Other Tasks

• Address any other reasonable work/task requests as allocated by the Line Manager.

Required Skills To Be Successful:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit software.
• Strong ability to develop comprehensive engineering drawings and plans.
• Skilled in site visits and liaising with site staff for project deliverables.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams.
What Qualifies You For The Role:

• Diploma in Architecture, Civil, Structural Engineering, MEP, or related discipline.
• In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience in concrete reinforcement detailing and coordination.
• 10 years of experience in construction, including experience supervising draughting staff.
