Acute Medicine Specialist | Tax-Free Salary & Family Benefits

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Acute Medicine Specialist to join a leading healthcare facility in the UAE. The successful candidate will provide expert assessment and management of patients presenting with acute and complex medical conditions, ensuring timely diagnosis, stabilization, treatment, and appropriate onward care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with acute medical conditions.
• Provide rapid clinical assessment and stabilization of acutely unwell patients.
• Manage conditions including sepsis, respiratory distress, chest pain, acute kidney injury, electrolyte disorders, gastrointestinal bleeding, and other medical emergencies.
• Evaluate patients with multiple and complex medical conditions.
• Initiate appropriate investigations and treatment plans based on clinical findings.
• Interpret laboratory investigations, ECGs, imaging studies, and other diagnostic results.
• Coordinate patient admissions, referrals, and transfers to appropriate specialties.
• Work closely with Emergency Medicine, ICU, Cardiology, Respiratory Medicine, Gastroenterology, Neurology, and other specialist teams.
• Provide ongoing monitoring and review of patients throughout their hospital stay.
• Participate in rapid response and medical emergency teams when required.
• Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and electronic medical documentation.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and Continuing Medical Education (CME).
• Ensure compliance with healthcare authority regulations, hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols.
• Participate in on-call duties and emergency coverage as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
• MD / DNB / MRCP / FRCP / CCT in Acute Medicine or equivalent recognized postgraduate qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of post-specialization experience in Acute Medicine or Internal Medicine with significant acute care experience.
• Strong clinical experience in managing acutely ill and medically complex patients.
• Excellent clinical judgment, decision-making, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Experience in a high-dependency, emergency, or acute medical unit is preferred.
