Job Purpose:
To oversee the Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes, coordinate with the IRB committee members, and lead the research access process.
Key Result Areas:
➢
Maintain policies & practices that align with international norms for legal and ethical compliance and research governance.
➢
Oversee the operations of the IRB, meeting scheduling, agenda preparation, and minutes documentation.
➢
Ensure timely review of research protocols and informed consent documents, maintaining compliance with laws and regulations.
➢
Coordinate with IRB committee for initial reviews, continuing reviews, and adverse event reporting.
➢
Guide the research office team on the research process and ensure that all projects are on the right track
➢
Handle the IRB approval and assurance approval with the Ministry of Public health
➢
Follow up with researchers on progress reports for IRB renewal or project closure/completion
➢
Ensure that research projects are reviewed and approved by the QBB IRB Chair/ members taking into account its ethical soundness and methodology as required by law.
➢
Adhere to established document control policies & procedures and participate in their regular review, in conformance with best practices and to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory policies
➢
Other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
➢
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 6-8 years of relevant full-time work experience in compliance or regulatory affairs/ Human Research/ administration, 2 of which at a supervisory level.
➢
Holds the Certified IRB Professional (CIP) certification.
➢
Knowledge of the Qatari legal system an advantage
➢
Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is an advantage
➢
Proficiency in MS Office applications
Requirements
- •Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- •6-8 years of relevant full-time work experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, Human Research, or administration
- •At least 2 years of experience at a supervisory level
- •Certified IRB Professional (CIP) certification
- •Excellent writing skills
- •Proficiency in MS Office applications
Nice to Have
- •Knowledge of the Qatari legal system
- •Arabic proficiency
