Job Purpose:
To support the development and delivery of programmatic areas of the Policy Hub to expand QF’s reach, influence, and impact in support of Qatar’s national policy development
Key Result Areas:
• Work with the Policy Hub team on key programmatic areas and contribute to the execution of projects focused on supporting national stakeholders in the policy making community
• Carry out project activities in line with established thematic tracks and work with internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of project outcomes
• Ensure that programmatic activities build on the institutional development of QF’s Policy Hub, collaborating with QF policy centers and other initiatives across Education City
• Recommend new opportunities based on areas of national need in Qatar where QF Policy Hub expertise and personnel could contribute and provide valuable advice to national development through public policy.
• Identify and recommend opportunities for cross-sectoral, multistakeholder policy where the policy hub can orchestrate collaborative working groups
• Support the convening of collaborative working groups, developing workshop agendas, stakeholder identification, setting outcomes and outputs, and managing the event delivery
• Develop project charters, project plans, stakeholder engagement plans, and monitoring & evaluation frameworks for projects led by the Policy Hub
• Translate research ideas into policy relevant reports and briefings and opportunities for coalition & partnership building
• Support on the development of white papers, policy notes and briefing documents from topic identification and write up to final stages of design
• Identify opportunities for collaboration between the Policy Hub and stakeholders, both nationally and where relevant internationally
• Develop and contribute to a stakeholder engagement plan and outreach strategy for local and international stakeholders and for relevant policy outputs while working with appropriate QF entities
• Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, and national and, where applicable, international stakeholders, and represent Policy Hub at meetings with stakeholders.
• Support in overall activities in the CEO’s Office as and when required
• Other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field & 6-8 years of relevant full-time work experience, A Master’s degree is an advantage
• Experience in research, and public policy development
• Strategic thinker with the ability to distill and translate research into policy papers
• Excellent time management, planning, project management, and research skills are required to manage assigned activities; works well under pressure
• Excellent interpersonal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Excellent time management, planning, project management, and research skills are required to manage assigned activities; works well under pressure
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is an advantage
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
Requirements
- •Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- •6-8 years of relevant full-time work experience
- •Experience in research and public policy development
- •Strategic thinking and ability to translate research into policy papers
- •Excellent time management, planning, and project management skills
- •Excellent interpersonal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- •Excellent writing skills for drafting and editing policy documents
